Thank you for visiting the site of Ayn Roberts; based in Fairfax, Va., I currently work as a graphic designer for ThinkGeek working on licensed and non-licensed package designs for brands like Minecraft and Star Trek, and products like the Minibru Coffee Mug, and the USB Squirming Tentacle. However, because I am a workaholic design nerd, I am ALWAYS looking for freelance and collaboration opportunities, especially in the areas of interactive and mobile design as well as illustration.

It's ironic to use a hipster-looking, obviously designer/Mac lover inspired stereotype that for some reason works on a PC in his dorm, (seriously, does he have to be sporting plaid, a beard, geek-chic glasses, AND high-laced shoes?) but irony aside, the ad is funny in its very relate-able premise. I think anyone that uses the internet as much I do has come to understand the inferiority that has long been linked to Internet Explorer whether it's trying to get beyond it's clunky interface, poor HTML compliant standards, slow loading times, and it's sheer amount of fail despite its countless released versions.

Browsing the internet today, I came across Google's Project Re:Brief, an endeavor started this year to take some the world's most successful and iconic ad campaigns and re-contextualize them for digital technology as a commemoration of the 18th anniversary of the internet (they never fully explain what makes 18 yrs special enough to "commemorate" it, but it's Google and they can basically do whatever the fuck they want). The case study list is short and eclectic, giving the team a broad range for experimentation and implementation

Coming into work this morning, I was once again faced with the annoying problem of having absolutely no work to do. In cases like this, I enjoy digging into my arsenal of time-wasting websites with a particular favorite being psdiasters.com. If you have never visited this site, it's a must for both designers/production artists and just anybody who enjoy looking at mass amounts of fail; contributors submit ads, images, and articles from all over the world depicting photoshop debacles ranging from subtle inconsistencies to "HOLY FUCK HOW WAS THIS PUBLISHED!?"
