Dell’s internal tooling

Dashboard Designs

My Role

For over 4 years I built and led Dell’s internal tooling team, growing our design department from myself to a 4 other designers. I have served as Lead UX/UI Designer as well as taking a heavy hand in the product roadmap as a Product Owner and Product Designer. Below are the highlights of many dashboards I’ve created over this time.

Traditional Financing

Users needed the ability to provide traditional financing options to clients, as a means to provide a full TCO story. When managing the table-dense information, it was important to keep customization features and server-details available for the user. Users often needed to access a well rounded set of information to the entire contract story while walking the client through the contract details.

Apex Financing

Over time, Dell created a new financing leasing feature for server-sales enablement. Sales agents were new to this financing option — it was crucial that the development of this financial feature set included education to the user about iitscomparative benefit to traditional financing options of buying the server environment outright.

With robust interviewing and constant testing, we created a financial dashboard that displayed the value added for the client over several consumption/buying scenarios as well as against traditional purchasing options.

OneSizer Opportunity Contract Flow

Towards the end of my time at Dell, we had managed to absorb several other internal tooling products as a ‘One Tool to Deal with Them All’ — included in that was a Salesforce, API connected tool that tracked opportunities. We combined our smart engine with the Salesforce contract process to display an intuitive interface that displayed high level opportunity information and connected it directly with the robust feature-set of Dell’s OneSizer (previous named, A3) server-contract builder.
